Broadhurst Residential Care

Broadhurst is situated very close to Sandown Beach on the southern coast of the Isle of Wight and has been rated good by CQC.

We provide 24 hour residential, respite and dementia care for the elderly in our lovely, spacious home. Our expertly trained and professional staff are dedicated to the care, comfort and dignity of all our residents, with special emphasis given to promoting independence, privacy, respect and wellbeing.

Our home provides communal areas which give a real sense of community, including a spacious main living room, where residents can relax in comfortable armchairs and watch their favourite film with popcorn, or just have a natter. There’s also a quiet lounge which backs onto the garden, for those residents that want a little me time.

Residents benefit from their own private bedroom equipped with an en suite and there are shared rooms available where couples may choose to live together whilst receiving the care and support they both need.

Living well at a Broadhurst, means you have the choice to live as active a lifestyle as you wish, so boredom is never a consideration.

Our residents are taken on trips to visit the local garden centres, shops, and beaches where we can arrange ice cream and cream teas. We also arrange group visits to local attractions such as The Owl Sanctuary and Monkey Haven. As part of our wellbeing activities we include a whole range of animal therapy, where our residents can pat animals such as horses, donkeys, tortoises and guinea pigs. There are community activities where the children from the local school come and sing to our residents and we also have ‘Themed’ days where we support ‘Red Nose’ day and ‘Children in Need’.

As well as this, we like to celebrate marked occasions, such as birthdays and Valentine’s days where husbands and wives can have a special meal together.

Within the home there are opportunities for our residents to visit the hairdresser and have beauty treatments such as hand massage and nail painting as well as Chiropody treatments.
